A contemporary extension that reorganises everyday family life.
** A rear extension to an existing Wagga residence · opens the home north to the garden and rewrites the everyday choreography for a young family. **
** The original house had the rooms but not the flow. The kitchen looked at a wall. The kids spilled into the only living room. The back garden was the best part of the site and you couldn't see it from anywhere you actually spent time. **
** Our brief was to fix that without throwing the existing house away. We pulled the back of the house off, extended north and east, and rebuilt the heart of the home around a north-facing garden room. New kitchen, family living and a long covered terrace · the sort of indoor-outdoor edge that earns its keep eleven months of the year. **
** The existing front of the house was retained and re-painted, and the new addition is detailed to step down slightly from the original ridge · clearly a new chapter, but a quiet one. Landscape and fencing were resolved as part of the same documentation set. **
** The completed extension has been in use since 2022. **
